The Mandarin Oriental opens the Year of the Dog Spa

The Chinese New Year began on February 18, 2018. To celebrate it, the Mandarin Oriental launched the Year of the Dog Spa Experience. Visiting this spa is an experience that rebalances energy for both the body and the mind.

According to Chinese tradition, this is the Year of the Dog. It is said to be one of action and one where you need energy to survive.

The new treatment will be available all year and, according to the Mandarin Oriental, it is designed to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and ease pain and muscle tension.  The spa incorporates several traditional elements making the experience therapeutic.

To symbolize good tidings, you are received with hot or cold towels with Mandarin infusions or tangerine oil. After that, it is the time for de-stressing and encouraging sleep. For this, you are invited to a welcome drink of Chinese red dates, honey, and goji berries.

The objective of the treatment is to produce a soothing sensation of restoration, contentment, and happiness.

The entire experience is designed to last 1 hour and 20 minutes.  The creators of the Year of the Dog Experience were inspired by the yoga pose of the downward facing dog. Combine this with the Group’s Flourish Oil, which is an exquisite blend of cardamom, coriander, and lemongrass.
